Refund policy

This policy explains when Menu Builder may issue a refund, when fees are non-refundable, and how AI-assisted usage can reduce or prevent a refund where law allows.

Last updated:April 21, 2026

1. Scope

This refund policy applies to subscriptions, annual plans, lifetime-style offers, one-time purchases, and AI-assisted features sold or made available by Menu Builder.

If a purchase is processed by a third-party payment provider, refund processing or timing may also depend on that provider. Mandatory buyer rights, payment-provider rules, and local law will still apply where required.

2. Default refund rule

Except where required by law or expressly stated otherwise, Menu Builder fees are non-refundable and non-exchangeable.

Subscriptions are billed in advance. You may cancel at any time to stop future renewals, but cancellation does not automatically create a refund for the current billing period.

Nothing in this policy limits non-waivable consumer rights or any refund rights that cannot legally be excluded.

3. When we may approve a refund

We may review refund requests submitted within 14 days of the charge on a case-by-case basis. Submission of a request does not guarantee approval.

  • Duplicate or accidental duplicate charges.
  • A clear billing error that caused an incorrect amount to be charged.
  • A material technical failure or provisioning issue that we cannot resolve within a reasonable time.
  • A first-time annual purchase or annual renewal requested promptly and before material product usage in that billing period.

4. AI-assisted features and usage deductions

AI-assisted translations, generations, rewrites, and similar workflows create immediate variable costs for Menu Builder. Those costs may arise as soon as AI processing is requested, even if the customer later decides not to keep the output.

If AI-assisted features have been used on the account, we reserve the right, to the maximum extent permitted by law, to deny a refund entirely or to reduce the refund amount by the reasonable value of AI usage already consumed and any non-recoverable third-party processing costs.

We may calculate that deduction using usage records such as AI jobs, translation runs, consumed credits, token-based processing, or similar internal accounting metrics. Light evaluation usage may still be reviewed at our discretion, but material AI usage is generally non-refundable.

5. Usually non-refundable situations

Without limiting the default rule above, refunds are usually not available in the following situations unless required by law.

  • Change-of-mind requests after material use of the platform, publication of live restaurant content, or substantial setup work inside the account.
  • Unused time remaining in a monthly, yearly, or lifetime billing period after cancellation.
  • Accounts that consumed meaningful AI-assisted usage beyond light testing or previewing.
  • Accounts suspended or terminated for abuse, fraud, non-payment, or violation of the terms and conditions.

6. How to request a refund

Send your request to the support address listed on this page and include the account email, restaurant name, charge date, and the reason for the request.

If your request relates to a technical issue, include enough detail for us to investigate, such as the affected restaurant, workflow, screenshots, and when the issue occurred.

7. Processing and effect of refunds

If a refund is approved, we may issue a full refund or a partial refund depending on usage, AI processing already consumed, and any non-recoverable costs already incurred.

Approved refunds are generally returned to the original payment method. The timing and method of return may also depend on the payment provider, bank, or card network involved.

If we issue a refund, we may suspend or remove access to the refunded plan, credits, features, translations, or related account benefits.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this refund policy as pricing, billing flows, AI costs, and legal requirements evolve. When we do, we will revise the date at the top of the page and publish the current version here.
