Privacy policy

This policy explains what Menu Builder processes, why it is processed, and how to contact us with privacy questions.

Last updated:April 19, 2026

1. Scope

Menu Builder provides restaurant websites, structured menus, and AI-assisted translation tools. This privacy policy applies to menusbuilder.com, the shared admin, and restaurant public sites hosted through the platform.

When a restaurant uses Menu Builder to publish its own site or menu content, that restaurant remains responsible for the guest-facing information it chooses to publish. Menu Builder acts as the platform operator for the service itself.

2. Information we process

We process the information needed to operate the service, protect accounts, publish restaurant sites, and support customers.

  • Account information such as name, email address, login credentials, and team membership.
  • Restaurant information such as menu content, homepage copy, contact details, enabled languages, uploaded images, and domain settings.
  • Technical and operational data such as request logs, device or browser information, and service diagnostics needed for reliability and abuse prevention.
  • Support and account communications that you send to us by email or through product workflows.
  • Preference data such as essential theme or display settings stored on your device.

3. How we use information

We use personal and restaurant data only as needed to provide and improve the service.

  • Create and secure accounts, sign users in, and manage restaurant memberships.
  • Host and publish restaurant websites, menus, media, and translations.
  • Store backups, maintain platform stability, and troubleshoot operational issues.
  • Respond to support requests and communicate about product changes or service issues.
  • Detect misuse, enforce product rules, and protect the service and other users.

4. AI-assisted features

If you use AI-assisted translation or similar features, the source content required to generate the result may be sent to external AI providers on our behalf. That may include menu names, item descriptions, homepage copy, and related translation context.

You are responsible for reviewing AI-generated output before publishing it. Do not submit secrets, payment data, or sensitive personal data into guest-facing copy fields or translation prompts.

5. Sharing and subprocessors

We share data only with service providers that help us run Menu Builder, such as infrastructure, hosting, authentication, storage, and AI-processing providers.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to respond to valid legal requests, or to protect the rights, safety, and integrity of Menu Builder, restaurants, or guests.

We do not sell personal information.

6. Cookies and local storage

Menu Builder uses essential cookies and similar storage needed to keep the product working, including authentication or session state and saved appearance preferences such as theme mode.

We do not currently use the marketing site for advertising cookies or marketing trackers in this codebase.

7. Retention

We retain account and restaurant data for as long as it is needed to provide the service, maintain security, and satisfy legal or operational obligations.

If an account or restaurant is removed, we may keep limited backup, logging, or compliance records for a reasonable period before deletion cycles complete.

8. Your choices

You can update or remove restaurant content from the admin, change published contact details, disable languages, and choose whether to use AI-assisted features.

For account, correction, deletion, or privacy questions, contact us at the support address below. If you operate a restaurant on Menu Builder, you are also responsible for handling privacy disclosures and guest requests related to your own published site and business.

9. International processing

Our providers may process data in more than one country depending on their infrastructure. When we rely on third-party processors, we expect them to use appropriate security and data protection measures for the services they provide.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy as the product evolves. When we do, we will revise the date at the top of the page and publish the updated version here.
